Sixth Form

Welcome to post 16 learning at Thomas More Catholic School. Our Sixth form is a vibrant, close-knit, and happy community of students who study a range of subjects and courses of A levels and BTEC level 3 qualifications. We have a 'believe and achieve' ethos and offer excellent pastoral support, with Catholicity at the heart of all that we do. Students have daily Tutor time sessions and study relevant topics such as mental health issues, current affairs, study skills, and managing finances. Students also receive sessions on UCAS applications, apprenticeships, careers and employability guidance as well as various workshops, University visits, and rewards trips.

Entry requirements

5 or more GCSE passes (grades 9-5)

For A level courses, a level 6 or above is required in the subject to be studied (for example, to be able to study A level History, a 6 or more must be achieved at GCSE)

For BTEC Level 3 courses, a level 5 or above is required in the subject to be studied

If studying a new A level course (for example Psychology or Sociology) GCSE subjects such as English Maths and Science at level 6 may be required.

Please note that English and Maths GCSE must be taken if a level 4 has not been achieved.
