Jack Petchey Award

 Jack Petchey Award

Jack Petchey, (OBE & CBE), is one of Britain's most successful businessman. He grew up in the working class area of East London with few advantages except for a desire to work hard. He made his fortune initially buying and selling cars and then in the holiday business.

In 1991, he setup the Jack Petchey Foundation to give opportunities to young people. So far, he has given over £70 Million to schools, projects and clubs around London that benefit young people.

Thomas More Catholic School awards pupils the Jack Petchey award to recognise their individual achievement, in doing their best and in supporting their school and wider community.

Past winners have been recognised for helping victims of crime in their local community, for supporting their fellow pupils in the school, and for over-coming personal adversity to succeed.
